For Meaning
Have you ever wondered why massage is called "therapy"? I recently looked up eight definitions of the word "therapy", and surprise, they were all similar. However, only one came close to what I feel best describes why massage could be honorably referred to as therapeutic.
All of the definitions listed such things as a medical procedure or a psychiatric protocol, neither of which describes how massage could be called therapeutic. Massage Therapists, after all, are not physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, or physical therapists. The eighth definition, however, was different. It was the only one that included the word "alleviates". That one fit.
The application of knowledgible and skillful massage has certainly alleviated some of my many, aches, and pains. Predictably, however, after a bit of time, the aches and pains did return. I found that while massage can certainly "alleviate" and provide a temporary healng, curing and ending the pain is an altogether different thing.
Still, while keeping things in perspective, it is my experience, as a receiver and provider, that massage can be an enjoyable method of managing some soft tissue pain.

However, I am a very busy retiree. When not working a massage schedule I am usually taking caring of some gorgeous grandchildren who look a lot like me.
Because my hours are extensive, I restrict my massage practice to Susan Hart's beautiful H2O Salon & Day Spa located on Versailles road in Frankfort, Kentucky. This means I don't get to offer out-call services in your home or chair sessions at popular local venues.
If you would like to schedule an appointment please call the Salon at 502-484-0711, or if you want you can reach me at 859-539-5558 or at healwmassage@yahoo.com.
I look forward to meeting and working for you.
